Clients are getting immune to the “sale.” They see 50% off, 25.00 off, referral rewards, you name it almost every facebook post. People in general are sick of the irrelevance of your news. Information has to be relevant to matter to them. It’s not about you, it’s about them and what attracts them to your business. I want you to think about something. What is it that you are providing to your customers?
Selling too much is similar to the friend that keeps coming around talking and talking about nothing that interests you. They call you all of the time to the point that you are avoiding answering their call, you avoid going to the same places they are, you avoid eye contact because as soon as they see you they will be talking to you about things that don’t interest you. If you are one of those people avoiding those friends that we are talking about here, then think about your customers that are trying to avoid you. They avoid your mailings, your calls, they stopped opening your emails, they get to the point they unsubscribe to your emails. The straw that broke the camels back by calling your salon to tell you to STOP contacting them. This has happened to all of us in business. Someone smart said to me once, “Kimberly, you have to have strong stomach for this business.” He was right. Not everyone is going to like you, so it comes to the actual moment to realize that appreciating your best customers will likely keep coming to your salon because they like you and will tell their friends about you. Keep showing your appreciation to them.
